Adam Lovett

Adam Lovett, local restauranteur, with 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, has owned and operated a litany of restaurants from Manhattan to Southold. Adam got his start in the city at Arizona 206 (Manhattan) and Contrapunto (Manhattan) and managed P.J. Clarks (Manhattan).

He also managed Starr Boggs (Westhampton Beach), Tequila Jacks (Fire Island), and Jedediah Hawkins (Jamesport) and owned and operated Vespa (Manhattan) and Passion Fish (Westhampton Beach).

He has also worked as a sommelier, sold wine, and curated winelists for some of the top restaurants on Long Island. Adam owns and operates a Mano (Mattituck), A Lure Chowder House & Oyster-ia (Southold), By Hand Catering (Mattituck), and most recently, Southold Social (Southold).

Adam Lovett started in 1988 when he began working his way up in the restaurant business from dishwasher, bus boy, waiter, sommelier, and manager all the way to restaurant owner. He has worked with top Long Island chefs, including Tom Schaudel, Michael Meehan, Starr Boggs, and more recently partnering, with Francois Payard. The Queens, New York native studied hospitality management at New York City College of Technology and quickly made a name for himself in the industry.

 

Lovett broke into the business at Arizona 206 in Manhattan before moving to Contrapunto and eventually moving up to manager of P.J. Clarks. Before long, Lovett became a certified sommelier, curating wine lists for some of the top restaurants on Long Island. Mr. Lovett eventually moved on to be General Manager at Focaccia Grill (Wantagh), Starr Boggs (Westhampton), Patagonia West (Westhampton), Tequila Jacks (Fire Island), and Jedediah Hawkins Inn (Jamesport).

 

In 2003 Mr. Lovett opened his first restaurant, Vespa, in Manhattan. He then opened Passion Fish in Westhampton with Tom Schaudel. In 2008 Mr. Lovett once again partnered with Tom Schaudel and opened aMano in Mattituck, and in 2011 he opened A Lure in Southold with partners Tom Schaudel and Jeffrey Uguil – both of which he still owns and operates. Mr. Lovett also owns a successful catering company, By Hand Catering, with partners Uguil and Schaudel, which services events across the East End to Manhattan.
